Goals of the Institute of Information and Computer Studies

The IICS endeavors to:

1. train students to become computer professionals knowledgeable and competent in meeting the growing demand for software developers and IT persons in government, business, industry and education;

2. harness and undertake relevant ICT researches to provide valuable services and to share expertise and facilities with various stakeholders on the transfer and promotion of information and communications technology for local, regional and national benefit; and

3. inculcate in its students positive Filipino values and attitudes as well as the value of independent and life-long learning.

Program Objectives for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

At the completion of the program, the graduates should have:

1. acquired computing concepts and theories, algorithmic foundations and new developments in computing to design and develop software solutions;

2. equipped with adequate preparations, practicum programs, field exposures and related learning experiences to meet future needs in the field of computing;

3. engaged in research and collaborative work with the industry to ensure the practical application of computing technologies;

4. imparted technology transfer through extension activities in the hope that it will improve the lives of the community it serves;

5. developed teamwork and interpersonal skills, social responsibilities and participation to local, regional and nation building.

2. equipped with adequate preparations, practicum programs, field exposures and related learning experiences to meet future needs in the field of computing;

3. engaged in research and collaborative work with the industry to ensure the practical application of computing technologies;

4. imparted technology transfer through extension activities in the hope that it will improve the lives of the community it serves;

5. developed teamwork and interpersonal skills, social responsibilities and participation to local, regional and nation building.

• University of Santo Tomas

The College of Information and Computing Sciences was formally established in 2014, with its separation as an independent academic unit from the Faculty of Engineering. Its programs trace their histories to the College of Science (for Computer Science), the College of Commerce and Business Administration (for Information Systems), and the Faculty of Engineering (for Information Technology).




• Lyceum Northwestern University

The College of Information and Computing Studies of Lyceum-Northwestern University was established on June 2009. The office of the college is located at the 1st floor of Florencia Building and (4) computer laboratories are also situated at the same location. Two (2) more computer laboratories are positioned at the 2nd floor of the same building.




• University of Southeastern Philippines

This College of Information and Computing is committed towards the growth of Southern Philippines by developing information technology professionals, entrepreneurs, managers, and new technologies. During its initial implementation last June 26, 1997, the Institute came up with a plan to prepare the University as a Nodal Training Center in Region XI. Consequently, it grew so smooth because of the support given by the neighboring state universities and colleges.

The College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS) is an academic unit at Mindanao State University Marawi (MSU Marawi) that focuses on computing programs. In 2021, the college has renamed the College of Information Technology and is headed by a College Dean.
